Gujarat-based KPI Green Energy, which develops, builds, owns, operates, and maintains solar power plants as an independent power producer and captive power producer has announced receiving commissioning certificates from GEDA (Gujarat Energy Development Agency). The firm has commissioned 26.10 MW wind-solar hybrid power project. The hybrid project comprises of 16.10 MW capacity of wind while the rest of the 10 Mwdc is for solar capacity.

The project will be set up at Bhungar site in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, under the Gujarat Wind-Solar Hybrid Power policy 2018. The policy sets sights on scaling up the installation of wind and solar hybrid power projects (hybrid projects). It seeks to minimize the variability apart from optimally utilizing the required infrastructure including land and transmission system.

KPI Green Energy has a series of hybrid projects to develop in Gujarat. Just a day ago, KPI Green Energy announced that it had received a letter of intent for developing a 40 MW hybrid green energy project that will come up in Gujarat. The capacity entails 21.50 MW wind and 18.5 MW solar, as per the firm. The 40 MW hybrid project bagged by KPI has been awarded by Anupam Rasayan India, Surat, a firm that engages in the manufacturing of industrial chemicals. Earlier, the firm commissioned a 25 MW captive solar power project for Greenlab Diamonds in Surat. KPI Green Energy had said that it had inked a set of new Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to sell 6.3 MW of solar power.
